I like this idea, I have been trying to find sites with stats and I think I finally found one. I am having trouble understanding it thought. I.e The age trend at 67 races wins 48 times. What exactly does that mean? Then I assume Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3 are groups of tracks?

    Thanks Chris W.

Hi Chris, “67 races wins 48 times” means that I have noted a trend in 67 races which is to do with the age of the horse and in 48 of those races, a horse that has followed that trend was the winner. For example, if the trend is that in the last 12 races, only 4yo’s and 5yo’s have won, then I note this as a trend and any horse running that is not aged 4 or 5, does not follow the trends and is added to another list. My final listing (on the left of the race page towards the bottom) gives the names of all the horses that follow the trends that I have noted for the race, confirmed by the “ticks” in the columns.

Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3 are the race levels, i.e. Group 1 is the highest level and only the best horses race in these. Group 2 and Group 3 are also attract high quality horses and “Group racing” is the top level. After this is Listed level and then Classes, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 with Class 6 being the lowest level. As well as the Group races, I also cover what is known as “Heritage Handicap” races. These are Class 2 and as they are handicap races the odds are usually higher. At the same time, finding winners is generally a lot harder.

      Good luck !
